[:ja]おとぎの国から飛び出てきたような町、ベルンカステル・クース＠ドイツ[:en]A town that looks like something out of a fairy tale @ bernkastel kues, Germany[:]

[:ja]ドイツのライン川上流に合流している川、モーゼル川。
ワインを好きな人であれば、モーゼル地方のワインということで、その川の名前をご存知かもしれません。

ベルンカステル・クースはどこにある？

ライン川から別れて、しばらくモーゼル川を上流に行ったところに、ベルンカステル・クースという町があります。

その町は大きくU時に蛇行しているモーゼル川を挟んで、東岸側のベルンカステル地域と西岸側のクース地域があり、
それら2つを合わせて、ベルンカステル・クースと呼ばれています。

ベルンカステル・クースの名産はモーゼルワイン！

モーゼル川沿いというだけあって、町の名産はリースリングで作られたモーゼルワインで、下の写真の真ん中の建物、これお酒屋さんなのですが、その中で試飲してモーゼルワインの違いをいろいろと楽しむことができました。

そして、ご覧のように、まるで中世かおとぎの国の絵本から飛び出てきたような建物がたくさんあり、散歩するだけでもとても楽しいところです。

それもそのはず、古い家だと何と築1400年から1600年台のものなどが今でも現役で使用されていて、まさに中世そのものだったのです。

ちなみに今回宿泊したホテルは、上のような感じのホテルで、部屋の鍵も昔ながらの絵で簡単に描けそうな鍵でした。

ぶどう畑を越えて山を登ると山頂には古い城があり、改築されてレストランになっています。
もし、ライン川やモーゼル川近くにいらしたときは、ぜひ1泊して中世の匂いを感じ取ってみてください。

ベルンカステル・クースへのアクセス方法は？

ベルンカステル・クースへのアクセスですが、自動車で行くことができます。
ケルンからだと、観光がてらライン川沿いを上流に行き、コブレンツという町でライン川につながるモーゼル川沿いに行くこと3時間ほどで到着します。
途中に古城がいくつか見えるので、休憩したり食事をとったりしながら移動するのが良いと思います。[:en]Mosel River, a river flow into Rhine river in Germany.

Where is Bernkastel-Koos?

There is a town called Bernkastel-Kues, loacted lies in the Mosel valley, roughly 50 km (31 mi) from Trier.

In 1905, Bernkastel, on the right bank of Mosel River, was merged with the village of Kues, on the left bank. They were joined by the villages of Andel and Wehlen in 1970.

The specialty of Bernkastel-Koos is Mosel wine!

The town is famous of mosel wine, made by Riesling.

The townscape of Bernkastel-Koos is like a fairyland.

As you can see, there are plenty of buildings that pop out of the medieval or fairytale, and it is a lot of fun just to take a walk.

The old house of 1400 years old is still still in use today.
It was indeed the medieval ages itself.

The hotel I stayed this time was like the above, the key of the room was the KEY that I could put on old-fashioned paintings.

When crossing the vineyard and climbing the mountain, there is an old castle on the top of the mountain, it is renovated into a restaurant.

How do I get to Bernkastel-Koos?

To get to Bernkastel-Koos, you can go by car.
From Cologne, it takes about three hours to go upstream along the Rhine River and then along the Moselle River, which connects to the Rhine River in the town of Koblenz.
You can see some old castles along the way, so it is a good idea to take a break and have a meal as you go.[:]
